Abstract

1456377 Delivering sheets CANON KK 20 Dec 1973 [29 Dec 1972] 59225/73 Heading B8R Copy sheets P, Figs. 1 and 4, delivered from a copying-machine I to a distribution II are conveyed upwards by a belt 20 against which they are held by air pressure, and thence delivered by rollers 33-36 into a plurality of vertically spaced trays 73, which, as each sheet is detected, is moved a step by a motor 49, the arrangement being such that all the copies of an original page are delivered each into one tray from top to bottom of the tray assembly, while all the copies of the next page are delivered from bottom to top, the motor being reversed, until each tray contains a copy of each page. As a sheet passes into a tray, the entrance to that tray is enlarged, as by pivoting the tray about its rear end, by a crank mechanism. Each tray slopes downwardly in feed direction, and also laterally, Fig. 7, so that the sheets register against the lower corner member 75, Fig. 6. Each tray is formed with a plurality of arms 74 by which it is supported on members 72, and with slots 750 to accommodate guides 55, which are adjustable vertically with respect to the tray to a position most suitable to assist stacking of sheets of the size being used.
