Abstract

1,212,353. Mowers. A. J. VOGELENZANG N.V. 6 June, 1968 [16 June, 1967], No. 27874/67. Heading A1F. A mower of the kind provided with non- synchronised cutters rotating about vertical shafts disposed in a plane normal to the direction of travel, is characterized by a guide plate 20 located in a minimal gap between adjacent cutters, the plate being provided with an aperture adjacent the gap. Skids 25 are situated immediately below the plane swept by the blade tips 26 and are carried on mounting brackets to afford vertical adjustment. Each skid extends the length of the mower; the one located between blades 18, 19 may be constructed in two portions positioned on the guide plate either side of the minimal gap. The mower is adapted to be drawn behind a tractor via lugs 13, the p.t.o. connecting to gearbox 14. A belt drive is provided for the cutter 18. The side plates may be provided with openings to allow cut grass to be deposited outside the mower.
