[Also in Divisions C2-C3 and C4] A duplicating master is produced by laying a sheet 21 of infra-red transparent material on a developed image 20 produced electrophotographically heating the toner to a temperature at which it substantially fuses with the sheet 21, cooling the developed image and separating the sheet 21, such that the tone image and portions 130 of the photoconductive layer adjacent the toner image provide a raised image of the original document. The sheet may be polystyrene or polyethylene, or plastic coated paper which transmits infra-red radiation. The developed image 20 may be formed of carbon or other toner material which absorbs infra-red. In use, the master is inked in known manner with pressure-sensitive ink or heat- and pressuresensitive ink (see Division C4).
