Abstract

1,215,513. Printing apparatus. RICOH K.K. 30 April, 1968 [30 May, 1967], No. 20332/68. Heading B6C. [Also in Division G2] Original document 24 is copied on to photoconductive sheet 11b by copier 9 and sheet 11b is transferred to plate cylinder 2, where it is used as a printing plate in printing on sheets 4 by rotary offset lithography. Coated paper 11a is fed from a roll 11, cut into sheets 11b, charged, exposed and developed, then the developed images produced are fixed by heat source 30. Each sheet 11b is in turn fed to plate cylinder 2, is used to print on paper sheets 4, then is discarded to tray 49. Blanket cylinder 3 is then washed with liquid 52 by roller 54, which is pivoted about roller 53 to contact cylinder 3, and a further sheet 11b may be fed to plate cylinder 2. Clamp 2a, which holds the sheets 11b to plate cylinder.
