883,575. Printing processes. SIEMAG FEIMECHANISCHE WERKE G.m.b.H. March 18, 1958 [March 22, 1957], No. 8605/58. Class 100(2) [Also in Group XX] In a xerographic printing apparatus, a photoconductive layer in sheet form 3 is fed with the original to be copied to a rotatable drum 1 having a surface of transparent conducting material to which the sheet 3 adheres solely under the action of electrostatic forces. The original is fed through guides 5 and emerges along guides 7. The photoconductive sheets 3 from a stack 4 are given a uniform charge at 19 and are pressed with the original against the drum by a belt 6. After reflex exposure by lamp 17, the sheet 3 continues on the drum surface to a developing station 9 and a transfer drum 11, where the developed image is transferred to a sheet from a stack 12. The sheet 12 continues round drum 11 and the transferred image is fixed at 13, while the sheet 3 is removed from the drum 1 along guides 15. The surface of the drum 1 may be of conducting glass or it may be of glass covered by a conducting layer of transparent metal or varnish. Specification 755,486 is referred to.
