Abstract

1,210,228. Thermal regenerators. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER A.B. 3 Nov., 1967 [10 Nov., 1966], No. 50112/67. Heading F4K. A pack of heat transfer elements for a regenerative heat exchanger comprises a series of substantially parallel imperforate heat-conducting plates 10 spaced apart by discrete spacer elements 12 in the form of protruberances or dimples. These are arranged in first lines parallel to the direction of fluid flow X between the plates and also in second lines which are perpendicular to the direction X. Each second line of spacer elements between a pair of adjacent plates lies in the same plane as a second line of spacer elements between the remaining pairs of plates, this plane being normal to the direction of fluid flow. The protruberances may be integral with the plates and may be on one or both sides of the plates. The spacer elements in the space between any two adjacent plates are offset in a direction normal to the fluid flow from the spacer elements in the spaces on either side of the said space.
