Abstract
1,208,673. Pneumatic seals; window mechanisms. H. KRANTZ VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 9 Jan., 1968 [28 Jan., 1967], No. 1306/68. Headings E1J, E2F and E2M. [Also in Division F2P] A device for tightly closing an aperture comprises a flap I having a continuous peripheral groove 2 for receiving an inflatable sealing member 3, the flap being pivotally mounted on two axles 8 which are colinearly positioned within the periphery of the flap in a plane of symmetry of the flap and in a plane substantially parallel to the flap passing through the centre of the groove 2. A shaft 9 on the flap is pivotally engaged at its ends by the axles 8 each of which is carried by a lug 7 which extends within the perimeter of the flap 1 and is connected to a bracket 5 or 6 fixed to a frame 4. A pneumatic or hydraulic, cylinder 12 is secured by a bolt 11 to the bracket 6 and has its piston rod 13 connected to the shaft 9 by a pivoted lever 16 to pivotally move the flap 1. Final closing movement of the flap 1 also acts, through a multi-way valve, not shown, to inflate the sealing hose 3 which is deflated at the beginning' of the opening movement of the flap.
