120,776. Grindrod, A. Nov. 22, 1917. Moving-chamber apparatus; for granular material. - The rotating seed - distributing drum of a sowing machine is arranged within the frame beneath a seed hopper. The Figure shows the arrangement of the ejector M in the pocket S of the rotating drum and the means for adjusting and operating it. A collar T adjustably secured by a setscrew on the stem of the ejector M bears under the action of a spring Y against a flange A<1> on the rotating drum, thus limiting the effective depth of the seed pocket, and the collar T may be so set as to close any required number of the pockets. The plunger is operated by a fixed cam P which at any desired point in the rotation of the drum forces the plunger outwards to eject the seed against the action of the spring Y. When the plunger has moved past the cam P, the spring Y forces the plunger inwards, leaving the pocket S open to receive a fresh supply of seed when beneath the seed hopper.
