Seed distributers.-In a sowing-machine in which scoops or blades attached to a rotary disc project adjustably through a drum, the disc 3 is made in parts and a set of scoops 2 is attached tangentially to each part, the disc 3 being adapted to be turned as a whole to adjust all the scoops 2 simultaneously and the parts to be moved relatively to one another so as to adjust the sets of scoops separately. The disc 3 is mounted on a sleeve 4 on the driving shaft 5. It consists of thin discs arranged side by side and adjustably secured by screws 3<1> to cover discs. By turning the thin discs separately the sets of scoops may be adjusted relatively to one another or withdrawn into the drum 1. The scoops normally take the seeds one or more at a time from the part 9<1> of the container and deliver them to an outlet 6', premature escape being prevented by a spring plate 6 acted upon by an adjustable spring 7. A rotary strickling wheel 11 is mounted at the end of the spring 6. It is protected by a spring 12. Bulky &c. seeds which cannot be taken separately from the part 9<1> of the container may be fed to the scoops from above, a flap 10 in the container being thrown over to shut off the part 9'. The seeds may be pressed downwards by a plate 10<1> guided by pins 10<2> and acted on by springs 10<3>. The discs may be driven in the opposite direction so as to deliver seeds from the part 9<1> of the container over a spring plate 13 to the outlet 6<1>. A slide 16 is provided for regulating the feed to the scoops, and a slide 15 for emptying the container.
