Abstract

1,201,865. Ignition devices. CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES R.V. July 5, 1968 [Aug.2, 1967], No.32305/68. Heading F1B. A device for causing ignition by means of an electric spark produced by discharging a capacitor 1 which has been charged from an electric supply source 4, 5 comprises a manually operated contact 12 having a first position in which the capacitor can charge through a charging circuit and a second position in which the capacitor can discharge through a discharge circuit comprising a transformer 6 connected to discharge electrodes 9, the contact being urged by a spring 15 into its second position. To produce the spark the switch can be moved manually into its first position and then released to resume its second position under the action of the spring. In a modification (not shown) a second capacitor may be used to give a voltage doubling effect.
