Abstract

1,200,641. Gas scrubber. YAWATA IRON & STEEL CO..Ltd. 14 Aug., 1967 [15 Aug., 1966], No. 37245/67. Heading B1R. A venturi-scrubber has upper and lower guide members 1 and 6 which divide the gas stream flowing through the venturi into two streams, one on each side of a rotor 4 disposed between the guide members and rotatable to vary the cross-sectional area of the gas flow passage in the throat of the venturi. Liquid is injected from a supply pipe 9. In modifications the rotor may be arranged to move opposed arrangements of anticulated plates to vary the cross sectional area of the gas-flow passage.
