Abstract
1,199,117. Spray carburetters. FICHTEL & SACHS A.G. Sept. 5, 1968 [Sept. 9, 1967], No. 42200/68. Heading F1B. A single control member 54 is operable to control a throttle valve 30, a choke valve 34, a shut-off valve 22 between the fuel supply conduit 20 and the float chamber 14, and a switch 82 for earthing the ignition system of the engine on which the carburetter is mounted. The float chamber 14 is connected to the induction duct 12 between the choke and throttle valves by a passage 26. The control member 54 is connected to the choke valve shaft 36 and an abutment 56 on the valve 34 may engage a rod 46 to depress the float 16. The edge 58 of the choke valve 34 may be moved into engagement with a leaf spring 60 which engages a wire link (66), Fig. 5 (not shown), attached to the operating arm 42 of the throttle valve 30, to move the throttle valve to its idling position. The arm 42 is normally positioned by a throttle linkage connected to an automatic speed governor. The closure member 72 of the shut-off valve 22 and a contact 78 of the earthing switch 82 are mounted on the choke valve shaft 36 and shutoff the fuel supply and earth the ignition when the shaft is rotated beyond the position in which the throttle valve is set as its idling position. The control knob 54 has an arrow (84), Fig. 6 (not shown) which co-operates with marks on an outer casing (18) of the carburetter indicating the various positions of the choke valve shaft 36.
