Abstract

1,198,902. Sanitary knickers. J. A. JOWITT and D. E. K. D. JOWITT. 3 Jan., 1969 [4 Jan., 1968], No. 537/68. Heading A3V. Disposable sanitary knickers made of liquid proof paper comprise front and back portions 1 and an integral gusset portion, the latter being reinforced at its inner surface by an additional gusset portion 2 of liquid absorbent paper. Shirring elastic 3 is sewn in zig-zag fashion around the waist and leg lines. The knickers may preferably be opened apart at the waist at each side, the adjacent waist parts 1 being detachably connected together, for example by light popper studs affixed to tapes and sewn to the knickers. Parts 1 and 2, which are sewn together, may be made of six ply liquid proof and liquid absorbent tissue paper respectively.
