Abstract
1,197,643. Papermaking. BELOIT CORP. 3 Jan., 1968 [19 Jan., 1967], No. 390/68. Heading D2A. In a Fourdrinier papermaking machine, the wire has web-forming and return runs between a breast roll and a couch roll, and a member beneath the return run which member has a stationary flat surface to slidingly support the wire. As shown, a machine has a wire F, a headbox 12, breast and couch rolls 10 and 11, return rolls 13 and 14, tensioning roll 19, guide roll 20 and two support members 21 and 22. In Fig. 2 (not shown) rolls 19 and 20 are replaced by a third flat support member, and roll 14 by an adjustable roll 14a to tension the wire. The support members 21 and 22 may be bowed to correct differential stretch of the wire.
