Abstract

1,196,559. Clamp fastenings. YUNG YAU [trading as SHELL ELECTRIC MFG. CO.]. 26 Aug., 1968, No. 40778/68. Heading E2B. A ceiling rose assembly for a downwardlyextending support tube 12 for electrical apparatus, comprises a ceiling rose 11 which is adapted to surround the tube and to have its upper surface bear against the ceiling, and the rose having a hollow boss 17 through which, in use of the assembly, the tube extends, and securing means for the rose comprising a wedge member for encircling the tube and having a threaded portion 21 projecting downward through the aperture and an upper portion 22 disposed within the boss and having a frusto-conical external surface engaging the internal surface of the boss, and a nut 24 engaged on the threaded portion below the boss, the arrangement being such that when the nut is tightened on said threaded portion of the wedge member, the member is drawn downwards so that its upper portion grips the tube, and the boss of the rose is clamped between the wedge member and the nut. The electrical apparatus described is a ceiling fan.
