Abstract

1,193,833. Mortar bombs. OY TAMPELLA AB. 29 June, 1967 [14 July, 1966], No. 29987/67. Heading F3A. A mortar bomb comprises a substantially tear-drop shaped body with a tail pipe and fin assembly, having an overall length L approximately St times the calibre D, a body length 1 1 of slightly less than 4 times the calibre, a length of tail pipe and fin assembly 1 2 of about 1¢ times the calibre, the calibre zone being arranged in the forward half of the body, and the length 1 1 , of the forward part of the body from the zone to the front of the bomb being less than 2 times the calibre, the centre of gravity of the body being located in the forward part. The diameter d of the tail pipe is about <SP>1</SP>/ 3 the calibre.
