1,193,433. Absorbent sanitary aids. H. FENTON. 7 June, 1967 [9 March, 1966], No. 10280/ 66. Heading A5R. [Also in Division B5] An absorbent sanitary aid comprises a fibrous cover containing a water soluble cellulose either in fibre, powder, or granular form. The cellulose ether may be a methylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxypropylmethyl-cellulose, hydroxyethylmethylcellulose, carboxymethylcellulose, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sodium hydroxycarboxymethylcellulose, or hydroxymethyl cellulose. The fibrous cover may be made of gauze or paper. The sanitary aid may be used in the form of a towel or pad and may be provided with suitable fastening means for straps to support it on the body. The aid may contain a suitable perfume and may be formed with a vent, e.g. for the nipple when used on the breast.
