An urine collecting member has a flow path 22 of highly porous material surrounded by absorbent material of lower porosity. The material is preferably a foamed cellulose derivative or a foamed thermoplastic synthetic resin. The collector is anatomically formed and sealed in position by plastic straps 18 and 20. A cylindrical form, for male use, is also described (Fig. 3, not shown).
