Abstract

118,705. Smith, W. B. Sept. 28, 1917. Driving - chains, adjusting.-A treadle driving-gear for bicycles &c. has an adjustable countershaft 29 which is mounted in a split bearing 30 by means of an eccentric bush 35 and is connected by chain gearing to the treadle - lever shaft. To tension the chain, screws 37 are slackened, the bush turned by the aid of a projection 36, and the screws retightened.
