An inflatable armchair comprises a seat 1, back 3, and two arms (2, Fig. 1), each of these elements being separately inflatable and releasably interconnected, and each element having one or more reinforcing diaphragms 4, 6, (5), each of which is substantially oblong and connected along its longer sides 13, 14 to the element, the shorter free sides 15, 16 each having a rectilinear central region and circular ends. Two elements may be connected by a split ring 12 (Fig. 3) passing through pairs of apertures (11) in discs 8, 8<SP>1</SP> welded to the elements; or by a cooperating button (21, Fig. 4) and slot (22) formed on tongues (19, 19<SP>1</SP>) welded to the respective elements; or an apertured lug (26, Fig. 5) on a bracket secured to an element may be engaged between a pair of apertured arms (24) on a bracket secured to the other element, and a screw (28) or a grooved pin (32, Fig. 6) passed through the aligned apertures and secured by a nut (29) or circlip (35) respectively; or a T-shaped spigot (39, Fig. 7) secured to one element may engage in a slot (43) in a socket secured to the other element, the parts being locked by relative rotation through 90 degrees.
