Abstract

1,193,509. Tables combined with chairs. D. GOODWIN. 25 Aug., 1967 [26 Aug., 1966], No. 39321/67. Heading A4H. A furniture unit can be positioned to provide a high chair or a low chair or a table. The unit comprises two rectangular frames supporting a flat panel 1, and a double sided seat member 3 extending between the two frames at a position nearer one end of each frame than the other. A wedge shaped back-rest (11) can be hooked on to the frames. In a second embodiment (Figs. 9-13) the unit is made by moulding plastics material or by pressing or moulding ply-wood or metal. The unit consists of a flat table member (15) and a seat structure of curved configuration providing a high chair in position and a low chair when turned upside down. In a third embodiment (Figs. 14-18) the unit is made of metal or wood or plastics or concrete and comprises a table member (30) bolted to an edge of a seat structure of assymetrical T cross-section. Two units of opposite hand can be arranged end to end to form a settee (Fig. 19).
