Abstract

1,170,996. Sleeve for cans; packaging cans. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. 4 March, 1968 [27 April, 1967], No. 19523/67. Headings B8C and B8P. An open-ended cardboard sleeve erected from a blank, Fig. 1 (not shown), may hold at least two containers 1 arranged end to end to form a package. Alternate panels 3, 4 &c. defined by scores or creases have openings 21 to receive the rims 24 of the containers 1. Shallow V- shaped cut-away portions 19, 20 in the ends of the sleeve act as guides during insertion of the container 1. Panel 3, (9) have transverse perforation line 23 and panels 5, (7) are formed with tear strips 22 for opening.
