Abstract

1,039,438. Wrap-round cartons. CONTINENTAL CAN CO. Inc. July 2, 1965 [Oct. 28, 1964], No. 28153/65. Heading B8C. A wrap-round carton for bottles &c. has cutouts receiving the bottle shoulders, tabs produced by the cut-outs upstanding from the carton side walls to provide protection. Cut-outs 64 produce tabs 65 adjacent the top which may have neck receiving apertures 67. Cut-outs adjacent the base provide support tabs 44. The lapped panels 16, 30 have tongue- and-slot connections 31. A finger aperture 68 and tear strip 70 are provided. The filled cartons may be arranged side by side in boxes, the tabs forming a double layer separator between adjacent bottle shoulders. The blank is applied to an assembled row of bottles from above in the manner usual in can packaging.
