Abstract

959,988. Cartons; can carriers. ANHEUSER-BUSCH Inc. March 19, 1962 [June 14, 1961], No. 10377/62. Headings B8C and B8P. A paper board open-ended sleeve type cancarrying carton for two rows of chimed cans 18 has bent down from its top face 6 chime engaging tabs 29 having rebent portions 30 which engage the innermost surfaces of the chimes 19, thus preventing the top 6 from flexing upwardly during carrying. The bottom chimes are engaged by strips 20, 21 which are integrally hinged to strips 11, 12. Tabs 25 in the top 6 are bent inwardly to form finger holes and the cans are prevented from endwise movement by further tabs 26 bent in to engage the inner faces of the chimes. The contacting faces of the strips 20, 21 may be glued. Stepped scores 32 provide a tear-off section which may be pushed in and then torn down to release the cans. U.S.A.
