Abstract
1,169,343. Closure caps. C. W. PYE. 11 Jan., 1967 [17 Jan., 1966], No. 2190/66. Heading B8T. [Also in Division E2] To lock a cap 43, e.g. for a petrol tank, a locking device 51, e.g. a barrel lock, is attached either to the tank opening (not shown) or to the cap and has a key-operated means for moving a locking member 53 between two positions, viz. when the member engages a shoulder 42 on the tank or a shoulder on the cap, and when it is clear of the shoulder. The locking device may be on the inside of the tank neck, as shown, or on the outside, Fig. 1. The cap 43 is screwed on before it is locked into position. A cover 44 lifts off so that a dip stick may be used in a T-slot 50.
