Abstract

1,168,747. Piling and reclaiming material. SOC. FIVES LILLE-CAIL. 24 June, 1968 [22 June, 1967], No. 30045/68. Heading B8E. Apparatus for piling and removing bulk material comprises a gantry beam 10 which supports a carriage 18 consisting of a cross member 22 and a vertical frame 24. A jib 26 under the control of a winch-operated cable 30 is horizontally pivoted to the frame 24 at 28 and at the pivoted end extends beneath the gantry beam 10. At the other end of the jib a bucket wheel 34, in removing material from a pile, feeds an endless conveyer 36. This conveyer feeds an elevator (not shown) in the frame 24, from where the material passes via a shoot 38 and a conveyer 40 to a conveyer (46), Fig. 1 (not shown). In a dumping operation, material brought by a conveyer (48) to the conveyer 40 passes to a shoot 50. The carriage 18 may be moved along the beam 10 by motor drive to the wheels or by cables and winches mounted on the beam. The gantry is moved along rails by self-propelled units 16.
