Abstract
1,167,898. Stripline circulators. MARCONI CO. Ltd. 1 Feb., 1967 [12 May, 1966], No. 21207/66. Heading H1W. The central conductor of a ferrite strip-line circulator comprises several mutually insulated portions, whereby different D.C. bias voltages may be applied to the different ports. The circulator is of the type having a central, circular conductor situated between a pair of ground planes. One component of a two-part central conductor of a three-port circulator is shown; it consists of a thin circular conductor Cl carrying a single port 1 in the form of a radial lug made of thicker material than the rest of the conductor. The other component is of similar form but carries two ports formed by lugs angularly spaced by 120 degrees. The two components are stuck together face to face with the stepped faces of the lugs facing inwards. A layer of epoxide resin about 0.0001 inch thick provides both adhesive and insulator.
