Abstract
1,163,974. Photoconductive films. HITACHI Ltd. 31 Jan., 1967 [28 Feb., 1966], No. 4701/67. Heading H1K. A photo-conductive film for use as a vidicon target comprises, in sequence, a substrate 1, a transparent metal oxide conductive layer 2, an evaporated metal film 3, and a photoconductive layer 4. The purpose of the metal film 3 is to reduce the dark current of the structure, to which end it may form a blocking contact with the layer 2. If the photoconductive layer 4 is of an evaporated material selected from the group As 2 Se 3 , As 2 Se 2 S, As 2 SeS 2 , As 2 S 3 or Se, the metal film 3 may be of Ag, Al or Cu. The transparent layer 2 is preferably of SnO 2 , on a glass substrate 1.
