Abstract

Photoelectric device has a first electrode with a first oxide coating based on oxide(s) of Cd, B, Sc, Y, Tl, Zr, Hf, Th, La, Bi, V, Nb, Ta and/or Fe and then a photoconductive coating. It can also have a second oxide coating, adjacent to the first, contg. oxide(s) of the above element(s), Pb, Ce, Ge, Sb, Zn, Al, Si, W and/or Te but not the same as those in the first coating. It can be used esp. as target electrode or screen, which can reduce the dark current of a TV camera tube. The electrode is formed on a transparent substrate, which is exposed to light on the other side. E.g. a transparent SnO2 electrode on a glass substrate was coated with Nb2O5, Se and Sb2S3.
