Abstract

1,163,872. Boxes; portable containers; packages. B. ROHRBACH. 2 April, 1968 [3 April, 1967], No. 15874/68. Headings B8C, B8D and B8P. A plastics, e.g. foamed polystyrene, box or package consists of two walls 3 encircled by a band 6. The lower parts of the walls 3 are tapered together to form a pocket, Fig. 2 (not shown), or joined by a rectangular bottom end wall, Fig. 3. Lateral ridges 5, 5<SP>1</SP> act as guides for the flexible band 6 which, in Fig. 3, is positioned by fixing star- or crossshaped cut-outs 9 over a similarly shaped boss 10 and securing the overlap with pressure sensitive adhesive. The band 6 may also act as a label. Lateral ridges (511), Fig. 5 (not shown), at right angles to the first set, may hold a transverse band (6<SP>1</SP>). A lid (8), Fig. 4 (not shown), with ribs (8<SP>1</SP>) aligned with those on the body may be used. Alternatively, the box, &c. may be formed in two parts, engaged by a tongue and groove connection. Both the top and the bottom of the box &c. may be closed by removable covers.
