Abstract

1,163,666. Delivering sheets. KARTONAGENMASCHINENWERK KAMA VEB. 15 March, 1967, No. 12075/67. Heading B8R. Collapsed cartons 36 are fed from a gluing machine between press cloths 1, 2, sensed by an electromechanical emitter 32 associated with a counter, and pass to a grouping station 38 where they are stacked on edge on a guide plate 5. Freely pivoted between chains 19 are three pockets each comprising a curved part 18 and a spike 17, normally resting in the slanting position shown for the topmost pocket. With the chains stationary, one pocket is above the stack being formed and when a given number of cartons is counted, a solenoid 14 operates a rod 16 to engage the spike, which moves into the stack and separates the counted batch from the cartons subsequently fed. The chains 19 are then moved, so that the pocket is lowered around the stack and moves it to the left to where it can be manually removed, while the following cartons are held back by brushes 12 and retaining flaps 7. The chains then come to rest in the position shown with the next pocket in position.
