Abstract

1,154,067. Feeding sheets. R. HEPP. 29 Sept., 1967 [10 May, 1967], No. 44366/67. Heading B8R. In a machine of the general construction disclosed in Specification 1,033,930, the sheets 2 may be stacked with either the upper or lower edge protruding, and are fed along a path between belts 18, 19, which can be shifted between two positions by a solenoid-operated rod 24, so that the sheet is delivered to either a gripper 31 on a cylinder 29, or a gripper 32 on a cylinder 30 according to which edge protrudes. Where batches of each type succeed each other in succession, counters set to the numbers in the batch and actuated by the feeder operate the solenoid. For sheets with neither edge protruding, the grippers are inoperative and suction devices 33, 34 dial with the sheets, which in all cases are delivered to a conveyer 7.
