Abstract

1,162,831. Weather sealing for panelled structure. METAL SECTIONS Ltd. 24 May, 1967 [25 May, 1966], No. 23350/66. Heading E1W. A strip assembly which forms a weather seal in external wall panelling comprises an axially aligned pair of lengths of stripping 14 spaced endwise from each other and connected by a bridging strip 15, to form an expansion joint, each length of stripping including a plurality of relatively angularly disposed flange and web portions 14a, b against which the bridging strip lies, and at least one web portion, for example the web forming the bottom of the channel 14c, which is slotted or out away at its end to receive the bridging strip. The assembly of Fig. 3 is adapted for use with a panel which underlies a floor slab. Fig. I (not shown) and co-operates therewith to form inner and outer seals. An assembly showing stripping 20 and bridging strip 26 in cross section, for use between upper and lower panels, which cover the edges of a floor slab 23 is shown in Fig. 2, in which a further section 25 secured to the floor slab 23, forms an inner seal.
