Abstract

1397596 Thermally insulated framing members in walls, glazing LIPS ALUMINIUM NV 11 Aug 1972 [11 Aug 1971] 37618/72 Headings E1R and E1W A hollow rectangular section tubular metal framing member is provided with laterally extending elongate flanges 7 and 8 which overlie adjacent panels 1, 2 or a panel and a structural building part. The side 3 of the framing member and its corresponding integral flanges 7, 8 are covered with a neoprene heat insulation strip 17 which seals the gap between the panels 1, 2 and the flanges 7, 8 respectively. The strip 17 is held in place by bolting plates 20 at intervals along it to the underlying member. A cover strop 23 of aluminium may be clipped over the joint. Aluminium panel securing sections 9, 10 may be resiliently clipped on projections 11, 12.
