Abstract

1,212,713. Elongate element for building walls or roofs. LUSALITE-SOC. PORTUGUESA DE FIBRO-OIMENTO S.A.R.L. 5 Feb., 1968 [6 Feb., 1967], No. 5672/68. Heading E1W. An elongate generally U-section prefabricated building element for use in constructing roofs and ceilings, or vertical walls, has one flange 2 with an outward corrugation 3 at its junction with the web 4 and an outward corrugation 5 at its free end margin, the profiles of the corrugations, and the disposition of the flanges being so related that a pair of similar elements may be placed with the other flanges 6 in juxtaposition whilst the corrugation 5 of one element overlaps the corrugation 3 of the other element. The flange 6 of the element may be flat or may be corrugated as in Figs. 4a, 4b, 4c (not shown) or may be modified to provide the alternative forms of connection where it meets the adjacent element as in Figs. 3b, 3c and 3d (not shown). The space between the first and second flanges may be filled preferably with cellular concrete. The elements may have closed ends with ventilation openings. In use the elements may be placed horizontally side by side so that the flanges 2 consitute a roof and the flanges 6 a ceiling. Alternatively the elements may form a wall by being placed horizontally one above the other with the open sides of the U directed downwardly, or vertically side-by-side, the flanges 6 being the interior of the building in both cases.
