Abstract

1,160,583. Circular loom shedding mechanism. PELTZER & FILS S.A. 12 Sept., 1966 [17 Sept., 1965], No. 40574/66. Heading DIE. The healds 79 of a circular loom are carried by bars 80-85 pivoted at 86, 87 to uprights 79. Wavelike shedding is effected by moving the uprights vertically by means of cams in the form of ribs 119, 120 on a rotating ring. The uprights are raised when rollers 70, 71 run on the upper cam rib 119 and lowered when they run on the lower rib 120; the shed is closed when the rollers run on a single intermediate rib 130. The rollers are diverted on to the desired rib by switching sections 161, 162 carried by slides 146, which are moved by cams 195 mounted on the fixed part of the loom; the cams 195 are positioned to lift or depress a slide 146 by acting on a roller 194 has a latch to hold it in its upper or lower position. The shedding mechanism comprises concentric rings of healds and cams as described above; the latches of all the slides 146 at the same position are released by a single lever 210 operated by a fixed cam 212 to enable the slides to be set by the cams 195.
