Abstract

115,969. Upton, Ltd., J., and Penzer, J. E. July 30, 1917. Joints between box bottoms and bodies; lined boxes.-A receptacle for cocoa &c. is made with a tubular body a, Fig. 2, of cardboard or like material and a base b consisting of a disk of cardboard, which is supported on an inwardly-curled part c of the body and may be retained in position by glue applied to the edge of the body or of the disk. A lining e of paper &c. may be added, and this may extend around the inside of the inturned part. An internal ridge f, Fig. 3, may, in some cases, serve to secure the bottom; or a lid like member g, Fig. 4, of cardboard may be glued in the body or may, as shown, have its flange curled inwards with the body in order to secure the bottom b. The receptacle may have a metal lid embracing it.
