1,158,468. Colour television tubes. HITACHI Ltd. 28 Oct., 1966 [14 Jan., 1966], No. 48385/66. Heading H1D. A colour picture tube comprises three electron guns in neck tube portion 5 with a plurality of focusing electrodes including 14 and 15, as in a uni- or bi-potential lens, for example, Fig. 6 (not shown), and electroconductive shield 22 surrounding at least that portion of each interstice opposite to the neck tube, the shield surrounding all three guns as a group, while being electrically insulated from the neck tube and adapted to have applied thereto the same potential as one of the focusing electrodes. Support member 23 may serve as an electrical connection to grid 15 or the shield 22 may extend to polepiece cage 17 fixed to grid 14 which is in turn connected by spring means to conductive coating 18.
