Abstract

115,767. Sawyer, R. Oct. 27, 1917. Multiple-way valves; closure members, sliding. -A valve for steam-heating in trains &c. comprises a slide E connected adjustably to an operating-member D by a pin G, the holes g in the slide being larger than the pin. An interposed laminated spring F, preferably of copper, bears on the slide E at two points, as shown, and yieldingly holds the slide to its seating. A rack d on the member D is engaged by a toothed disk c on the spindle B of the operating-handle. In the closed position of the valve, as shown, the casing H communicates with the atmosphere through a port k in the valve slide E and ports h, h<1> in the casing.
