Abstract

1,157,458. Gear pumps. TRUNINGER A. G. July 3, 1967 [July 1, 1966], No. 30510/67. Heading F1F. In an internally-meshing gear pump comprising a driving pinion 4, Fig. 1, and a meshing driven ring gear 3 rotatably mounted in an annular housing part 1 formed with a semi-lunar separator 5 separating a suction chamber 6 from a pressure chamber 7, the flanks 8, Fig.2, of the pinion teeth 15 are made straight and the tips thereof the same curvature as the inner peripheral surface 11 of the separator 5 whilst the bases 14 of the ring gear teeth 9 are straight. Also the width of the tooth tips 26 of the teeth 15 and the bases 28 of teeth 9 are not less than 0À1 mm module and not greater than 0À8 mm module. This ensures a very small squeeze space 22 and the change in squeeze space volume relative to the rotary angle over the extent of the engagement phase of the gears being kept at a minimum resulting in a reduction in the noise level during pump operation.
