Abstract

The gear machine, e.g. a gear pump, especially for high pressures, or a gear motor, comprises a ring gear (4) which is rotatably mounted in a casing (1) and has at least nine and at most fifteen teeth (6), and further comprises a pinion meshing with the ring gear. An approximately crescent-shaped filler piece (10) is provided which, on the pinion side, is bounded by the addendum surface (17) of the pinion and, on the ring gear side, is bounded by the addendum surface (15) of the ring gear. The tip diameter of the ring gear is smaller than that of the pinion. The pinion has two teeth (9) fewer than the ring gear. The cylindrical surfaces of the filling piece terminate at the end situated in the gear wheel revolving direction (36) in such a way, that the trailing edges of the crest of one tooth each of the ring gear and of the pinion simultaneously disengage at the corresponding addendum surface. As a result, the gear machine has a long service life and produces little noise.
