Abstract

The fixed housing (1) supports a member (2) with gear teeth which mesh with the teeth (7) of the gear (6). The gear (6) is mounted on a bearing (5) at an angle to the shaft (4) which runs in bearings (3, 12). The generating cones of the teeth (7) of the wheel (6) and member (2) have a common apex which lies on the axis of the shaft (4). The wheel (6) has teeth (8) which mesh with teeth (9) of the wheel mounted on the output shaft (10). The generating cones of the these two sets of teeth also have a common apex. With about 100 teeth to each wheel but with a difference of one tooth between the meshing pairs, a reduction ratio of 1 to 10,000 can be achieved.
