Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a variable pump capable of operating under a high pressure with high efficiency, by providing in the direction of the pinion gear axis a seal block which meshes with all the teeth of a ring gear with a minute distance between the ring gear teeth and the seal block. CONSTITUTION:A seal block 12 is placed on the rear cover side of a pinion gear 11. This seal block 12 has on its periphery teeth which coincide the inner tooth groove and mesh with all the tooth grooves of a ring gear 8. By this arrangement, a vacant space that is produced in the ring gear section by changed width of the meshing teeth is sealed by the seal block 12, and a vacant space in the pinion gear section can be sealed by the tip of the pinion gear tooth and the root of the ring gear, which prevents short circuit in a discharge port 17 and make a variable pump usable with high pressure in high efficiency.
