Abstract

PURPOSE: To smooth the rotation and operate cutting processes with ease and accuracy by forming a smooth connecting through involute curve of the arcs made by each tooth tip and tooth base of teeth which are set on one set of rotor periphery.
CONSTITUTION: The formation of teeth of rotors 3, 4 is such that a tooth tip is composed of an arc BC with the radius r and a point A as its center on a circumference of a pich circle 5 with the radius R, tooth bases are composed of arcs EF, E'F' with the radius r and points D, D' as their centers on the circumference of the pitch circle, a forth of π away from the point A, and the tooth tip and base are connected with involute curve CE, BE', thus gears 3a and 4a being in mesh each on involute curve. The arcs of tooth tip and base ensures smooth rotation, allowing between them no space which may cause noise and abnormal vibration. Also, teeth can easily be cut with a tool that has an arc and a semi-circle arc with the same radius as that of tooth tip and base, the arcs being connected with straight lines.
