Abstract
1,153,675. Inductive heating. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES DE CHARLEROI (ACEC). 22 Sept., 1967 [23 Sept., 1966], No. 43265/67. Heading H5H. [Also in Division H1] An inductor coil 1 is fed from the secondary winding of a transformer which comprises a pair of hollow water-cooled parallel conductors 2 electrically connected by an embracing U-shaped metal member 3; a pair of metal plates 4 secured to the conductors 2 and extending towards the base of the U-shaped member 3; stacks of iron laminations 5 clamped between metal plates 4 and the limbs of the U-shaped member 3; insulation, e.g. silica filled epoxy resin 6 between the base of the U-shaped member 3 and laminations 5, between the plates 4 and between the conductors 2; and a surrounding primary winding 8. The secondary winding and its associated members is movable relative to the primary winding and may be spaced therefrom by an enclosing evacuated glass tube. Alternatively, the secondary winding structure and primary winding may be joined by epoxy resin. As shown, the secondary winding structure is embedded in epoxy resin 7 which may provide a handle with a controlling device for the inductor generator.
