Abstract

The expansion of liquid in a central heating system is accommodated by an arrangement comprising a pressure vessel 1 sub-divided by a flexible diaphragm 5 into a lower liquid compartment 6 connected by a spigot 8 to liquid in the system and an upper gas compartment 7 connected by a pipe 11 to a storage tank 13 containing nitrogen gas. The vessel 1 is mounted by supports 15', 15" on the storage tank 13 which itself stands on feet 15. A gas pressure safety valve 9 is provided.
