Abstract

1310693 Central heating systems RICHARD BAXENDALE & SONS Ltd 8 Sept 1971 [9 June 1970] 27780/70 Heading F4U A central heating system 15 includes an expansion tank 10 of closed construction subdivided internally by a diaphragm 11, one side 12 of the tank being connected to the cold water supply tank 14, and the other side 13 to the central heating system, whereby the system pressure is limited to that of the height of the cold water supply tank. In another embodiment of a diaphragm expansion tank, two axially-spaced diaphragms are provided with a spacer block disposed therebetween. This construction ensures effective operation of the tank even with one diaphragm punctured.
