Abstract

1368194 Loading fluid into ships BETHLEHEM STEEL CORP 12 April 1972 [30 April 1971] 16844/72 Heading B8E [Also in Division F2] Liquid is unloaded from a storage tank 10, Fig. 1, on the sea-bed 11 through a rigid pipe 13 universally jointed to the tank by pivots 17, 19 and, held vertical by a buoyancy tank 22<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2, which is slidable within the tube 13, its upward movement being limited by screws 34. A coupling, Fig. 4, which permits swivelling about vertical and horizontal axes couples the top of conduit 28 to a flexible hose 30.
