Abstract

1,102,364. Fluid transferring apparatus. FMC CORPORATION. 8 Jan., 1965 [10 Jan., 1964], No. 862/65. Heading B8E. [Also in Division B7] Apparatus for transferring fluid to and from ships moored thereto offshore comprises an anchor 30 fixed on the sea bed by deadman anchors 32 and lines 31 and connected to shore by sea bed pipes. Extending from the anchor 30 for pivotal movement about vertical and horizontal axes is a lower conduit section 62 comprising a rigid mooring tube 70 supporting conduits 85. An intermediate transverse section 64 is connected for restricted pivotal movement about vertical and horizontal axes to the lower section 62 and has at its transverse ends upper sections 66 pivoted thereto about a horizontal axis. Articulated loading arms 215 extend from upper section 66 for connection to the ship. In use the apparatus is raised from the sea bed by inflating buoyancy tanks 180 and a ship is moored between the upper sections 66 and fluid connection made thereto by the loading arms 215. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,053,741.
