Abstract
1152170 Fluid heaters URQUHART'S (1926) Ltd 4 July 1966 41183/68 Divided out of 1151214 Heading F4 AN2A A fluid heater, e.g. for fluid oils, comprises a spirally wound heating element 31 and one or more spirally wound fluid ducts 33 cast in aluminium 34 to provide a pancake heater. The ducts comprise copper or steel and the element 31 comprises ceramic-filled metal tubes with embedded resistance wires. The top and bottom ducts may form a single or two separate fluidways. A plurality of alternating fluid ducts and heating elements may be provided in one casting. A thermally insulating sheathing and an outer casing may be provided.
